Enron Diplomatics

A 12-record sample at random was selected reproducibly from 1,234,387 eligible native EML members using a seed committed before content inspection. All 12 source ZIPs match the accepted Session 16 SHA-256 baseline, and a repeat selection produced the same result. The analysis was carried out within an AI Dossier Space.

Key findings:

  • Integrity within Dossier Space is strongly supported.
  • Documentary authenticity varies by record and proposition; it is not a single yes/no attribute.
  • The records are transformed EDRM/ZL production derivatives, not untouched original mail-server objects.
  • Five records contain a formatting anomaly that interrupts strict RFC header parsing.
  • One delivery notification, R03, contains a material conflict between its displayed recipient/subject and its ZL-derived recipient/subject.
  • Quoted chains in R09, R10 and R12 provide the strongest internal documentary relationships.
  • No selected Message-ID was explicitly cited by another surviving record through References or In-Reply-To.
  • The scan found 1,497 same-subject candidates, but these are contextual only. For example, 1,269 use the generic subject “Energy Issues.”
  • Addressing, Sent/Inbox placement and delivery notifications do not independently prove delivery, readership, agreement or action.
  • The safest overall conclusion is that the corpus is useful as a traceable collection of preserved email-production derivatives, but reliability must be assessed proposition by proposition.

Dossier Space Session 21 remains open for operator review. Independent documentary assurance, original PST/NSF comparison and full substantive examination of the Word attachments remain explicit limitations.
