How It Started

XPlain-R began as a simple question: how can we trust AI when it starts reasoning about complex, high-stakes systems?

What started as a series of experiments inside Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) systems quickly revealed a wider challenge — AI could generate analysis, but not explain divergent reasoning.

To solve that, the project’s early work focused on structured reasoning — using primers and romers to make AI logic visible and auditable.
By combining ideas from knowledge management, decision science, symbolic logic, and AI interpretability, XPlain-R developed the first working Meta-Primer — a framework that helps humans and AI co-create structured reasoning pathways.

Where We Are Now

Today, XPlain-R is pursuing wider testing of the Meta-Primer across real decision environments: system maturity assessment, performance analytics, and strategic investment.

It is now a working research platform proving that structured reasoning can make AI transparent, repeatable, and accountable — a foundation for what we call trust through structure.

The project continues to evolve through collaboration, open trials, and live trial deployments.
